Wouldn't they be illegal to sale in the United States if they are not legibly marked stating their origin? So if they were made in the US then they wouldn't have to be marked. BTW I'm here because I received a knife and a straight razor for Christmas one year, and neither of them have a single marking on them. No numbers, letters, or symbols. It's very odd to me because every piece of cutlery I've seen has at least a seemingly random numerical code on it. The knife I received is a full tang damascus tanto. And the straight razor has a black finish on the blade that reminds me of gun bluing and wooden handles.A lack of any stamps or markings usually means a non USA made knife. Hard for me to image A.G. Russell selling a knife with no stamps or marking what so ever. Wonder if maybe they were some kind of prototype for Russell's marketing review or something. Regardless, I don't see either of these in Russell's current catalog. Have you tried contacting A.G. Russell, since that's where you say the knives are from?
