I just got this superblue endrua second hand as a nib. It looked really good at first but when i started to look at it closer there are some things off about it. I was wondering if you guys could help me figure this out.

The engraving on the seki japan side is all jacked up, then the spyder is all on there bad, there is discoloration on the blades edge, and last the lock bar does not seat all the way down.(it still locks up tight like all spydies)

I wish I could be more help, my best advice for that one is to have spyderco take a look at it. Ive never seen the engraving look wavy like that ever. But it could have been a screw up with the machine of course.
The only two 'messed up' spydercos ive ever had were from seki city, but they both turned out to be legit spydies.

seki city spydies in general are not as good as golden or taichong ones. Heck the china tenacious is perhaps better.

The way the lettering was done, and the way the lock fits with the blade makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I agree. And The spyder symbol looks off

The lettering on the other side is perfect looks just like my other engraved ones. Its just the side with seki japan and ive noticed that the spyder looks a little different depending on the year it was made on and country.

But thanks for all your guys input.

If a fake, seems odd that they'd put a collector's club number on it, no?

I also find it hard to believe they'd use a laminated steel on a fake. I suppose anything's possible.

I have 5 knives with the stamped (vs etched) script. I looked at all of them under magnification. At first I thought the script on the OP's knife was wrong because the E & J are different than what's on 4 of my knives. Then I checked my Dragonfly G10 and it matches the script on the OP's except it's much cleaner.

Just a guess but I'm thinking the OP's knife is real but has some serious issues.

It's real. I've never seen a fake with a Collectors Club number. On the other hand, darn near anything will look like crap if you magnify it sufficiently. Personally, I would not even call it bad QC.

I am with the Deacon on this one. The collector club number is a good sign that it is probably real. Also, it is a sprint run of a laminated steel and one quick look at the lamination lines confirms that it is in fact made with a laminated steel and not just marked that way. I am quite confident that it is real. If you are really worried about it I will buy that bad boy off you in a hot minute.

Yea, I'll add my vote in with Deacon and bearfacedkiller that it's real. The laser etching looks perfectly normal when you aren't zoomed in. I don't think I've ever zoomed in that close on any of mine to even check.

Now use that bad boy!

I Dont want to sell it but if you have a Stretch in Super blue or Hap40 id be willing to trade for it.

Also thank you to everyone who replied im confident its real. I just personally have never seen that. From what ive also seen its more common in that sprint run of Super blue.

Opinions.
Not ones I'll agree with. :)

I will agree with the mentions about the laminated blade though...
I'll be amazed to see a laminated counterfeit. (Although the top counterfeiters probably read here and are now loading up a batch of 440C clad 1095 as I type this, to sell as "HAP40"... I don't even know if that would work, but they might try. :p )
