I used to have a forever knife that I loved and carried everywhere. I made the stupid decision to leave it somewhere and lost it. Just in case I never find it again, could you guys help me find the same knife.
I am not exactly sure how long it was but it was a spring assisted blade with finger grooves and the handle was metallic blue while the blade was a matte black. I got it at a thrift store so I'm not sure how true this is but on the blade itself was a tac-force logo, and the knife was similar to their speedster models, but I couldn't find it. Please help me find one like it.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

If I were you I'd look upon this as an opportunity to find a higher quality knife. Tac-Force is on the lower end of the quality scale, much lower. I wouldn't expect a Tac-Force knife to last "forever".

And this is certainly the right place for knife recommendations. If you describe what you use your knife for, and what features you like in a knife (lock type, size, blade type, etc) I'm sure there are several members here who would be happy to make recommendations. And if you're not looking to spend a lot, there are plenty of very decent quality knives available for not a lot of money.

But if you're set on a replacement Tac-Force, then I can only recommend more time searching Google.

Welcome!

I hate to say this, and please don’t be offended, but considering your source of the knife, I’m in agreement that it was tac-force or MTech or the like. But, this may be a good time to upgrade your knife! Check out the kershaw cryo or cryo 2. One is larger than the other. They are solid performers for a marginal amount more than the one you’ve misplaced. They can be had for ~40$.

Thank you for the suggestion but I was looking for a lighter duty type knife. Cutting string opening boxes, comfortability, looks. The one I described I also used for cooking so it would be less advantageous to have a thicker blade as well. I would also really like one like that of the speedster models and the finger grips.

I know by now that they don't sell it anymore but I was looking for a knife that is comfortable and in the middle of thick and thin blade thickness. I don't often work outside so I would only use it for everyday things. I also used the old knife for cooking quite often as well. So if you know of any cheaper knifes with spring assist and finger grooves, then I would very much appreciate that. If possible, no seatbelt cutter.

That's the knife I thought of.

If you can carry autos. If not, how about a Kershaw Blur? That's usually my recommended lower price assisted knife, very solid build, reliable assist. You can also try Boker knives they do funky colors like that and are cheap, though quality is a step behind Kershaws in my opinion.

Good luck! And if you buy Mtech (willingly) I dont know you.

Well I am not one to spend much on a blade if I don't have to. Sorry but the only reason I am picky with knives is the comfortability and looks. As far as the quality goes, if I don't have to sharpen it once a week I am ok with it, but I am not going to put it through much stress. Also I will consider that knife but I kind of grew fond of the thumb piece in the back the flicks out the knife. Thanks though.

Maybe this at BHQ, penny under twenty six dollars.

Kershaw Al Mar AM-5 Assisted Opening Knife Black G-10 (3.25" Black) 2340

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of.

I don't mean to insult your tastes, but I can't, in good conscious recommend ANY Tac-Force or M-Tech knife. Because, honestly they don't currently (I doubt ever) make "forever knives". I've literally seen those things explode apart in peoples hands. They are cheap knives in every sense of the word.

Others to consider under $30.

Thanks. And I know they are cheap, but like in every brand there is at least one decently made product. The blade of my old one was a little loose, but I used it a lot so the bolt may have loosened from use. Also, would there be a plain edge knife similar to the ones you showed me?

All jokes aside, none of us here want you to feel like you’re being judged for your personal preferences. Turning newcomers off to the community is the LAST thing we want to do. But to be completely honest with you, there are very few if any individuals, that will be willing to help you pick out a gas station/ thrift store knife, and for very good reason. With objects like knives, quality and safety go hand in hand, and those type of knives are of the poorest quality, which generally makes them unsafe to use. Sure, you may only intend to use it for light duty tasks, but what if you find yourself in a situation that requires that knife to perform above the duty you originally called it to do? It could happen right? What if that knife isn’t up to that unexpected task, comes apart during use, and potentially seriously injure you? As an Eagle Scout, “Be prepared” is a good motto that I try to live by, and I encourage others to as well. You don’t have to buy $500 knives to be a part of this community, there are plenty of members here more than willing to point you towards a good quality knife that falls within your budget. But if you’re dead set on a tac Force knife, then you may be on your own, I’m sorry to say.

I was sent a Tac Force as a free compliment upon my purchase of an oversized Italian style switchblade knife. It was supposed to be a Master Woodsman Rescue Knife but they
enclosed a Tac Force Tactical-Rescue-Outdoor flipper instead. It is nice looking and I thought that I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and oiled and worked it up. Should I make a
complaint, just be quiet and keep it or discard the unit? You think?
