For Christmas this year I received a Gerber Paraframe II w/ the partially serrated edge. I was a bit leary of it at first because of the Gerber websites vague description of the blade steel as "400 series stainless" but I've had no problems in the limited cutting I've done. It was too stiff to open easily right out of the box, but it's loosening up nicely. I can only hope it'll stop loosening soon.
The light weight and thin handle do make it a lot more unobtrusive for EDC. So far the frame lock seems to be quite sturdy.
However, I have one serious beef with it. The plain metal handle combined with the slick gray coating make for one slippery knife. Add in any type of moisture and I'm uncomfortable using it. At first I'd thought of just putting some of that rough tape they use on skateboards on the grip, but that would be a bit too rough. Not only would it be uncomfortable to use, it'd probably wear my pants pocket out rather quickly.
Anyone here have any experience with this sort of problem? It really is a decent little knife, but unless I can find a way to improve its gripability it is IMHO unsat.
