Hello all,

I am getting rid of some of my older knives and will be selling them on ebay. Can anyone help me price these knives. I am looking for what they would go for if I were to "sell" them. This way I will have a ballpark figure of what I can get for them.
Here are the knives:

Indiana Jones Khyber knife: I got this nife when it first came out.

the Viper or cobra: This is the copy of the knife from the movie "Cobra" with Stallone. It is made by Fury and I got this one when it was first released also.

Gerber Tac-II

Rambo III: By united cutlery. Once again, it's the old one.

Total Recal: This is a push knife named for the movie of the same name.

Terminator 2: United cutlery. designed after the knife from the movie.

Rambo III Dagger: This one is from united cutlery as well nd was designed after a dagger in the movie.

I also have a Dive knife that I have no Idea what it is worth. It is from the mid 1980s. It is all stainless steel construction with a finger grooved stainless handle that has 3 hole cutouts and a lanyard hole. This knife is THICK. The blade is a recurved shape with a serrated top and a guthook on top. The knife locks into a plastic sheath and can only be released by pushing an upraised steel button. The Sheath says "Wenoka" in big letters.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I will post this in the bernard levine forum as well.

Man are you a movie knife knut or what? That's an impressive collection of Knife Movie Americana!

I saw that you posted this in Mr. Levine's forum as well. Bet you'll get your info there.

I just couldn't help but comment on the Movie collection, all great action flicks from my younger daze...

Your best bet is to search ebay for those knives (including completed auctions) and see what they sell/have sold for. If you use ebay your most critical task is how you name and describe your merchandise for the auction. In particular, get as many "key" search words in your title as possible. Never forget to put in the word 'knife' in your title. Most people use the 'search' function rather than hunting through particular product categories. If I'm an Indiana Jones fan I will search for "Indiana Jones" plus "knife". I might also search seperately for "Khyber" and "knife". As a movie fan I might search for "movie" plus "knife". I'm less likely to search for "United Cutlery" (actually, I might tell my search to exclude United Cutlery).

Be sure to include a picture. Don't set a high minimum bid or people may not look at your item during the last hours. The real action starts shortly before the end of the auction. At that point people are often looking for items that just include the word "knife". There are a lot of these to search in a short time. Items that have a high price listed, yet no bids look like losers. The most interesting items have a bid or two at least at this point.

Ebay is pretty good at finding you customers if you title your items effectively. Look at the variation of sales prices for items similar to yours. Try and analyze why one item discription gets a higher price than another. It is mostly presenting information that is easy to spot by the greatest number of buyers that are interested in your product. Be sure you provide information compatible with a computer search and then critical evaluation by a human buyer.
