My wife and I like Electronic Battleship and I left the (alkaline) batteries in the game about a year ago and of course, they leaked all over the place. Part of the pcb board is corroded and all I can basically get in the best of situations is to have the light turn on.

Did change out the battery carrier to a new one, basic soldering is a skill in my toolkit.

Is there a way to repair the board? I don't know crap about electronics. Hasbro offered no assistance and I cannot find this version(old version) on Amazon or anything like it.

Please help my electronically challenged dumbself.

Did you try looking on eBay? Once you figure out what part is messed up if it can't be fixed you can often find parts on there.

Can you post a picture? I'd like to see how bad it is.

STeven you should be able to run wire to replace the corroded circuit traces - it looks like you would need to make maybe a 1/2 dozen jumpers? Have you rung out the traces (continuity) to see if the circuits are broken? It may just be one or two.
Good luck

If you were talking one of the many other languages I understand, I would be able to answer.

As it is, I have no idea, wtf you are talking about.

By scraping away the green board enough to expose the good copper underneath, you could perhaps solder on wires bypassing the bad spots.
But if any of the transistors/resistors/whatever have been damaged, they'll need replacing too.

Something like this non-technical drawing. The black is where you'd have to scrape away the green, and the red is places that could potentially need jumper wires soldered.

Thanks Bob....THAT I can understand.....Forumite Rupestris pointed out some available units on Etsy, and I purchased one, but that will allow me the lattitude to attempt a repair as you suggest.

Much obliged.

Gently shine up the copper with a bit of scotchbright

Use a circuit board pen to repair it, as easy as writing you name- keep it around for fixing the defroster wires on the back windshield of your car.

Once it's on, hard and dry, tested working use some clear nail polish over that and the other points that need a little protection.
for example, you don't want to cover those switches.
