as you can tell i am new to the board, came from candlepowerforums and already have >100 posts in a month overthere so i do have potential.

right now i have an Almar that is solid stainless and small about 3.25 in closed and 5.75 in open. great knife but a little hard to open and close quickly
on the other extreme a spyderco AUS-6 stainless (is that a model number or the type of steel??)4.75 in closed and 8.5 in open with serrated blade and too big and heavy (all solid stainless )for edc in my opinion.

i want something in between size wise and and with the quality of these knives that is lighter but very durable and does have a pocket clip like the spyderco... AM i asking too much?

the only brands that i have even heard of are the "chive" and the "sebenza" which sound like nice good knives but i know nothing about them.

I want to get something that is not just readily found anywhere, I think that almar fits that bill but not necessarily spyderco Although a great knife

As you can see i need lots of education and help choosing an edc knife that would mate well with a surefire e2 Elite that is hard andonized.

Any suggestions with links towards pics would be nice and well appreciated and also in order to afford something like this i would really need to trade one or both of these in on something so if you all would like to consider trading please email me at mbush@abilenedc.com

otherwise just reply here thanks...... mike

AUS-6 is the steel.

Take a look at the Camillus EDC. It is a great knife and an excellent value.

MY EDC is a CRKT M18-02, If you dont want to spend that much my old EDC was the CRKT M16-03Z. Both are great knives for the money and even open faster than most auto's once you get used to the flipper.

Well, if oyu like the quality of the spyderco but not the size and weight, then you just need to go over to www.spyderco.com and take a lok at their complete line up of folders. If you want lightweight and god steel, I reccomend anything from the clip-it lineup with zytel handles. The prices on that site are MSRP, the knives can almost always be found cheaper at an internet dealer ( one stop knife shop, right here, helps support the forums, discount knives are very good also)

the camillus edc is great, so is the crkt s-2 framelock (ats34 and titanium handle for around 25 bucks on ebay! can't beat that value) many of the spydercos are great, look into the delica. Benchmade is great too, look at the BM-820, BM-830 or the new griptillian.

The knives i mentioned above are good knives for a cheap price. if you are looking into more exotic and expensive knives then..

Well this was coming sooner or later, so why not be first!
I can reccomend the small Sebenza as an EDC. Super sharp blade, titanium handle, great lock, super steel, custom quality.
It will cost you though, around $305.00 new and $250.00 used.
Many will stand by me when I say, It is well worth it!

My EDC is a small Sebenza. If the cost is too much, the Camillus EDC is a great knife. If possible, go to a B & M store and handle several different knives. Compare features, materials, and price. Get the best you can afford.
