I have disposed of my other folding knives in favor of Russell's K87CW one-hand folders whose blades are Cowry X Damascus steel. That's the good news -- simplification as I upgrade.
The not-so-good news is neither knife is as I want it, and A.G. Russell cannot service these knives.

The knife I got as a gift has scales. The package is exactly as I want it, but Russell's Customer Service scared me out.
I find having scales on the K87 makes it significantly easier to use. But this particular knife has mammoth ivory scales. When I talked with the Operations Manager at Russell's, I was told the knife is too valuable to use. I asked if the mammoth ivory could be removed and returned, to be replaced with Micarta scales. Russell's has no scales for K87 knives.
My second knife has no scales. The Operations Manager told me that knives, that did not come with scales, cannot have scales installed. While that sounds strange -- two holes drilled & tapped per side takes care of set-up for installation -- Russell's has no scales and no mounting screws.

Can anyone do the work I want -- install Micarta scales on both knives that will closely resemble my mammoth ivory scales in shape and function?
