I am in the process for looking for a second folder, spyderco of course. I currently have a paramilitary 2 in all black, black blade and black g-10. It is a great knife and I am just looking for a second folder.

I bought the manix 2, black blade m4 with ghost jade scales. It was still in the box and hadn't used it or carried it, sadly my soon to be x-wife stole, hide it, threw it away....its gone. I really liked the way the knife looked, but had not had the opportunity to carry it.

I am debating if I could should get the manix 2 with black 52100 blade and gray g-10 or a military in carbon fiber with titanium and g-10 in s90v.

It will be used lightly to moderately but thats about it.

I need help on which one to pick, they both seem great. Some of your thoughts would be great on which ones you like and why.

Thanks,

Matt

Since you already had one you spent money on and it was removed from your life by a demon person, I would go the base model manix in s30v. Mine holds up to all my everyday tasks very well.

I also think you should get another Manix. It is a great companion blade to the PM2.

Dang buddy, I'm sorry to hear about your ex-wife stealing that knife. Manix 2 is definitely my choice. The ergonomics are unreal, the blade shape is very slice, and its compact enough to be friendly both in use and when people see it they won't freak out.

View media item 2713I’ll go the opposite direction and say military. That S90V is an insane deal first off. Secondly, I feel the para and manix are comparable knives. The Military is much different than the others the way I see it. Dollar for dollar one of the best knives one could buy.

That way you have the “casual” para 2 edc, and the “let’s go cut some stuff” Military.

I would definitely go with the kw cf/ti s90v military, assuming thats what you mean OP. At $200 it is just a steal.

Is sharpening S90V going to be a problem? I imagine 52100 is incredibly easier to sharpen. How about a 52100 Millie?

Bummer man, sorry to hear about the crap you're going through. Both are awesome but as much as I love the Manix I give the edge to the Para 3, either way both badass. Let us know what you pick

Manix 2 is pretty wide in the pocket. I prefer the Military.

I am leaning towards the knife works military carbon fiber/titanium s90v. thanks for the input fellas.

I will chime in for the Shaman, it's slimmer in the pocket but has all the blade of the Manix and then some.

The Manix 2 and the PM2 are the 2 knives in my collection that see the most pocket time. I do not mind the width of the Manix 2 at all.
