So I am trying to decide on my next knife to get. I have been looking at the Possum Skinner by GEC and at others. I am leaning toward the pen style knife. I would love to have something a little smaller than the 4.125 of the Possum Skinner. I want a two blade knife preferably carbon steel and natural material for handle scales. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I always carry a traditional and sometimes a modern knife, but here lately all I want is the traditional knife in my pocket. I have found that my traditional knife sees more use than the modern one and it weighs less and is not as bulky in the pocket. So help me find a new jewel for the pocket.

There are a wide variety of 2-bladed traditionals in natural material under 4 1/4"...in various blade shapes and spring configurations. The #35 recommended is a nice one and comes with a nice blade combo. If it doesn't need to be a GEC and you are looking for something slim...I recommend trying out the Case Texas Jack CV...available in bone.

I like the #35 and the blade configuration. But it looks like they are non existent as far as buying one. but I will keep looking. Thanks for the relplies.

Just a note, the 82 Skinner is slim and light so it's no dead weight in the pocket.

35s can be found on the Exchange with good frequency so a little patience there....68 White Owl is the smaller version but they like the 33 Conductor are harder to source.

One you can get new and now is CASE's Penknife in cv or stainless, Yellow Delrin, a very decent slim carry.

Regards, Will

Thanks fellows for all the good recommendations. Gonna do some searching now.

Here's my two suggestions... the Maher & Grosh Boys knife, which is still available. It does come with a bail and chain. I cut mine off and there is a hole in the handle, but I hated the chain and the hole doesn't bother me. Otherwise, it's about the perfect knife..... 3.5", which may seem small to you, but it's light. There's a good reason the #15 pattern is so popular. Here's the cocobolo version. Also comes in antique yellow jig bone.

My other favorite GEC is the 78. 3 3/4" closed. Finding a clip main will probably be on the difficult side but there are plenty of spear versions out there if you look around. The exchange is a great place to look!
