so here it is i'll keep it short. What do I buy new boot's, new ESEE4, or rugers 10/22 in the digital camo

I dispise the digital camo marketing gimmick personally, so that nixes the .22... what are you looking at for boots?

I'd grab the ESEE 4 first as it's my favorite ESEE blade but if you wear boots everyday then you might want to grab a pair of them first. I'm getting a 10/22 here soon but I haven't seen a digi camo model before.

You ask this question in the ESEE forum ??

What do you expect me to say, BUY THE KNIFE!!:D:D

I'd go with the 10/22....

what wrong with digital camo? that's what troops are using... (I never use to like it, but now do)

Do you have a .22?
Actually, nevermind. Don't get the 10/22 anyway. I'm a BIG Ruger fan, and I've never liked the 10/22 since I bought one. Nothing wrong with it... I just like other .22's better.

Anyway, if you really need boots because the ones you have are wearing out, then boots. Then the knife.

But, my heart would go with the knife. Especially the ESEE-4. I have a sickness, and it is called blades.

Which fills a hole in your gear?

If you need boots, then get boots.

If you don't have a .22 rifle, get the 10/22 (everyone should have a 10/22, IMO).

If the -4 fills a need or a hole in your inventory, then get the knife.

Of course, the correct answer is "get all three". :)

I don't have a 22 yet boot could get 2 more mounths out of them and knife I have the hole lineup of ESEE (RAT).

In that case I'd definitely recommend:

1) 10/22 - everyone should have a rifle that launches .22 Long Rifle, and I'd venture to say that there are more after market accessories and support for the 10/22 than any other .22LR rifle firearm out there. You can set it up any way you'd like.

2) Boots - If you can make do with your current LPC's for a little longer, then I'd say this is your next biggest priority. When you do get around to getting new boots, buy two pair. ;)

3) The -4. You're not hurting for knives, and while there's noone that appreciates an impulse buy more than I do - I think there are bigger holes in your inventory right now. :p

YMMV, of course.

Take care of your feet. Save up for a .22 next. Knife is a nice to have but I assume you already have a couple.

I buy a new pair of boots once a year. Hate doing it because they ain't much fun. I'd rather spend the coin on toys but my feet need to be happy.

digicam is marketing hype. at a distance it blends into a solid color. sadly, it's also the current issue uniform.

i've got a rifle that i painted the stock on. base coat of tan, masked with 2" masking taps using the torn edges of the tape to give rough edges to the stripes and sage green stripes. a total of 6 or 7 stripes on the stock, so there fairly wide. the barreled action is matte stainless.

people trip over the rifle on the firing line at the range. i mean they see yiu shooting it, you put it down and they trip over it because the camo makes it hide that well.

and i'm not a huge fan on the 10/22. i have the stock triggers suck and i have bolt guns that will outshoot most 10/22s. occasionally i see a cystom one that i like, but it's usually a $1,000 custom rig.

i DO really like my S&W 15-22!

and 10/22s are like Harleys or 1911s... money pits.

a giid pair of boots is something you should have... two pairs if you live somewhere where you get 'em wet or if you wear 'em all the time.

sooo i'm torn between saying boots or the 4. depends on where you are and if you need boots or not.

didn't see this earlier. if you've got the rest of the line, thgre's no rush for thr 4.

new boots can take a while to break in. some take more time than others... might need to get the boots now and thenn get a .22.

if digicam is what blows your skirt up... well what can i say?

10/22 or Marlin 60.

Agreed. Either one.

I've had a Marlin Model 60 for years as my only .22 rifle. Although I am a big Ruger fan, I've been very happy with the Marlin. (At the time I bought it I was shopping for a 10/22, but the deal I got on the Marlin was too good to pass up.) When I got it I also got some Ram-Line hi-cap magazines for it. I haven't felt the need to accessorize it further, so the relative lack of add-ons isn't a problem. The performance is just as good as a friend's Ruger.

As far as digi-cam goes, I agree that it's a marketing tool. (Unless you're hunting in digital woods...;) ) I've never felt that cammo is needed on a .22 rifle. Pretty much anything you would hunt with a .22 is only going to react to movement, not patterns or colors. (Deer, however, are a different matter -- I like Mossy Oak.)

Buy the ESEE 4 and you can carve a new pair of boots from a tree trunk. :D

I'd definitely snag a 10/22, although I prefer the plain wood stock to the digi-cam.
