Hi everyone,

I live in Holland and I'm in the process of having made to my specifications an Puuko-ich style outdoor knife with a 4.3" blade and 4.3" grip contructed of 5/32" Talonite with a full tapered tang.
The man making it for me is a newcomer in the field of knifemaking and he still doesn't mark his blades with his initials.

I would like the blade "initialized" and promissed to help him find an affordable way of doing this.

Any help is welcome on the subject.
I don't care for scratched in initials

or hammered in ones.
It needs to be nice and simple and affordable.

If you know of someone who could mark a blade for a reasonable amount of money please let me know.

In the past I fooled around with FeCl3 and printplate "photospray" but Talonite doesn't really have Fe so it probably won't work.

Lets hear it please,

Bagheera

You can probably substitute Phosphoric Acid for the Ferric Chloride. Test is on some scrap. I am sure there are acids that will mark the blade without removing the mask.
