Cheaper Than Dirt spolied me, and now they don't carry machetes anymore. This country has gone nuts if there's some PC reason why they don't carry machetes. Have people here had good fortune with The Knife Store? http://www.theknifestore.com/ontario.html Thanks.

For the record, I'm not trying to play pirate. I seriously need a way to store my machete in between uses, and in a way that it's available but doesn't hack up other gear, or me. The plastic GI scabbard is all I have found so far.

It would probably be fun to make your own. Give it a try, you might surprise yourself. There are plenty of shath making tutorials on the net.

Hummm, I'm not sure about theknifestore.com try check "The good the bad and the ugly" sub section place in the Knife Exchange. Searching for it will help too. :D

Cold Steel makes Macheties, and Sheaths for it too. I'm not sure if they sell the sheath alone though. Or if yours will fit.

Interesting idea on kydex sheath, but I need it 18" long and don't have a press, and I need something to use. The search here and on google didn't turn anything up. I couldn't get a forum search to work. It wouldn't tell me results or anything, just stops.

I didn't know about the review forum. I'll look there.

For some reason the forum search function isn't working for me. Found it at http://www.actiongear.com/ I didn't even look there at first because I stopped using them because of high prices, and it didn't see it on google searches. I went to the Ontario site and went through retailer list. Thanks for the replies.

I use the GI issue plastic sheaths from Brigade Quartermaster. They have the hook up for a gI style belt but I make up a leather adapter for them.

I made my own sheath for the Martindale Jungle Knige and the Golok out of ABS plastic and a paint heat gun. I used pop rivets to hold it together. Pretty easy. There is a lot of sheath making stuff on the web.
