I would love to know if anyone has additional information on the knife pictured and described below. More history, possible value, Steel used ? Is the Maker still making knives? Any info would be appreciated.
This knife, made in 1981 by California knifemaker, Jim Sornberger was the prototype from which 10 award knives were produced for the 1982 Soldier of Fortune convention. Although the award knives had micarta handles and parkerized blades, this one is made from satin-finished stainless steel with beautifully grained cocobolo handles. It is 9" long with a 4-1/2" blade. The blade is 3/16" thick and 1-1/8" from edge to backbone. The death's head engraving is deep and detailed and the maker's name is also engraved in the blade. Bought in 1982.
