Hey everybody,

first time on this forum. I came across an old survival hatchet that I cannot find any information on. If anybody knows anything I would appreciate the info. A company called Continuous Casting in Seattle, WA made it but the company is no longer around. I think they shut down in the fifty's or sixty's. The hatchet is a solid one piece aluminum survival hatchet that supposedly floats. It's called the Flotaxe. it has a screw off cap on the bottom with a rubber gasket and it is hollow all the way through. I have the hatchet, the original sales reciept and the original box. I have tried surfing the web with no luck. I wish I could include a picture but I can't figure out how yet. thanks

Seen a few around. think they may be for canoeing, the lite metal(possibly magnesium) and hollow handle and they are said to float to the top if you dump your canoe in the water. probably more to it then this, others may know some more.

I'd love to see some pictures. You need to upload your photos on some image hosting site and then link to them here on bladeforums.
