I need my 2nd piece of INFI, what should it be?

Well, I have my FBM and I need a smaller companion blade to go with it. The FBM is too big for some jobs. I was thinking about ordering a BATAC while they are available, but maybe something bigger would work out better. The knives I am thinking about searching for on the secondary market are maybe a SJTAC, a Hell Razor, or a NO. What do you guys suggest? Who carries a second knife with their Battle Mistress, and what is it? I don't need anything too small like a GW, cuz I always carry a 3 1/2 to 4" folder. BTW, whoever told me NOT to visit badmojo, I should have listened! :grumpy: Now I want them all! :p
 
Im in the same boat mate, I've just got a CGFBM and I love it, but need a smaller knife to go with it... I am gonna save up and get the 15th Anniversary knife, and use it!

Will probably get a GW as well at some point.. sweet little blade :)
 
An SJT, HR or BATAC would be a good second. BATACs are available on Busse's site NOW!! :)

I have an FBM, HR and SJT, and out of the smaller ones, I really like the SJT size and fit. A little smaller than the HR, but the both rock... :thumbup:
 
I'm thinking of getting a sheath made to hold my matched set, Badger, CGFBM. I think the two would work nicely together. Any job that the badger is too small for, the BM can handle.
By the way, get the warden. I just took my balde down to 30 degrees yesterday (after I also thinned the FBM) and sharpened the hell out of it, polished it, and it is now an unbelievable little cutter.
 
What do you intend to use the smaller fixed blade for? If you already carry a 3.5 to 4" folder the SJTAC may fill the void better with the 6" blade, as opposed to the BATAC's 5" blade. However, I feel that the shorter blade on the BATAC may be a better choice that you can use in place of your folder when heavy jobs come up. The extra inch of the SJTAC may be too much for more delicate jobs. That said, both would serve you very well as they have similar blade profiles. And they're both INFI. I think it really depends on your intended use. I don't have a SJTAC, but have several BATACs ordered as they will go well with my CGFBM. Good luck with the search.

Yeah, You can't go wrong with the BATAC. I have a BATACLE on order to match the FBMLE. Right now you can get a BATAC for just a skosh more than a Game Warden when you buy from the shop. You'll pay a markup on the secondary market for the SJTAC.
 
Well, you could call the shop and see if they'll send you an chunk of scrap. ;)

I'd go with the Badger, if you're going to carry it with the FBM. The others on your list are decent choppers, but not as good as the BM, and too big to easily do smaller work that the Badger will handle. Warden or a Mean Street would be next on my list after the Badger.
 
You should really make sure to get at least one BATAC now while they are on the company web site. If it isn't what you want, then sell it or trade it for one of the others. This is your only chance to pick your preferred combo and get it at the lowest possible price.
 
Like others I think a BATAC should be the one to order while you can get it at Busse price. It would be the perfect size to go with the FBM.
