I am looking to get my first Busse! They way that I am going about it keeps my wife happy. Get rid of one knife to get another. I have a Grayman Satu that I would love to trade for a Busse or sell the Satu to put towards a Busse. I should be able to get $325 for my Satu and then add some cash if needed. What models current or past am I looking at in the $350-$400 range? Let me know if you are interested in the Satu and if you have a Busse that you would part with for it? Thanks for the info fellas!

I am on the same boat. I have to sell to get lol. What type are you looking to get? Combat. EDC. Hunting. Swamp rat?

I need a good fixed blade for camping. Im always in the outdoors and I have plenty of folders and want to get a folder that suits the outdoors. I do hunt a lot too. I have looked at some custom swamp rats and they are sweet too. Im just not sure what is in that $350ish range.

Do what I didn't.

GET A SFNO. PERIOD.

My gut told me to snag one, I didn't.

Ive now come full circle, and am lusting over that blade as we speak.

Do it. You wont regret it.

Pick a blade length range, and go from there. Don't overlook Swamp Rat & Scrap Yard. Great blades at a lower cost. I like mine nearly as much as my Busse's. Resiprene handles were a pleasant surprise. Good luck in your choice...;-)

What size knife are you looking for?
If you aim in the 4-6"
INFI Ratmandu should be high on your list., and SOB is another option.

For bigger knifes a cheaper option would be a basic 7/8/9.

I would send a Cupidganza email to the shop for a Basic 8 since the GO post is still stickied... 6-8 weeks before they are ready should give you plenty of time to scrape up the jing. ;)

+1
go for the B8 while you can.

I called the shop inquiring about purchasing a basic 8 and Lexi told me they all were spoken for- bummer

All this advice is good...

I would add to think about what kind of grind & blade shape you want also...

Something slicey...like a flat grind

Choppy....saber, perhaps

prybar-ish...a FAT model

Pointy...a fighter model

Lots of belly...a Muk

Basic-8 is a good all-rounder...

I would suggest also a finger-grooved SOB

Good blade for camping in the 350 400 range....TGLB CG, NMSFNO CG or Garth edition, INFIdu for sure..., the 2 first will be a bit above of your budget, the INFIdu will be pretty much there...or if you want to go low....get a ratmandu CG...one of the best "do it all" knives (IMO).

+1 for the Ratmandu. .....I would love one in INFI. The TGLB of course is a winner also. They are the only two I own so far and regret not getting BUSSE knives earlier in life.

A lot of your decision is going to be on what size blade you're looking for.
In the 4 - 6" range I'd also add the AMS (still available direct) or an LMS.

Good luck!!!

Wow, everyone has been so helpful. Thanks for all of the comments. I will do a little research. I am looking for the 4-6" range.
