i'm looking to buy something new. my first idea was a evenheat HT oven, but i have a HTer close by that can return the blades the same day if they don't need cryo. with pretty resonable prices. (www.fireballheattreating.com) should i go with some other type of equipment? or should i stick with the oven? thanks for the suggestions guys

mike how they working for you?, I had one go to them per a customers request about two years ago.
and it got messed up big time but it was the first and only time I used them,
it was warped, had spots in the steel like it sat on a rack of pins and it looked like they sandblasted it after, I had this one fully engraved too
how they working out for you?

seemed pretty good, the owner was a pretty nice guy. no trouble yet but i've only had 4 small blades done there so far. but we'll see how it goes. i really think i'm going to go with the HT oven. i can't pass something like that up. now i need a dewar for the nitrogen, quench plates, and all that good stuff.
but suggestion for more tools would still be nice.
oh yeah dan i mentioned your the knife i got from you, i was telling him he shoud look into buying one. then he said he had done one job for you. he does a lot of work for norman bardsley (sp?)

the engraving was done by Gary Adams and he suggested fireball, he has Colt parts heat treated there.
they ? frank or Marshal ?I can't remember his name.,,tried to straight out the heat warped blade and they/he thought it was good. :( . but I had to finish it. I couldn't let all that engraving go to he!L. but it turned out good in the end and everyone ended up happy. :)

One of my friends work in the R&D Dept. @ Texas Instrument and the only use Fireball. Then again I do know if thats good or bad.

Hey Mikey, I got the Paragon 14 HT Oven. Sweet machine. A little more costly than the Evenheat though. Word of advice: Don't get a HT oven unless it's 240volt.

why is that higgy? not enough power to get to the high temps in a reasonable time?

we call it 220 here :D

and get the highest wattage you can order..that will be the speed thing :D

does Paragon have the ramping like Evenheat now?
