Hey everyone, I live in Denmark, which has pretty strict knife laws, which have only gotten worse lately. So now that my BK7-9 and schrade 36-37 and pretty much all my coldsteel folders, have all become very illegal :( i'm looking for a new knife.

I am looking for an all purpose knife with a blade of 4,75 inches or below.
I'd rather it wasn't under 4 inches, since i'm gonna be using it for as heavy use, as i can get away with.
A couple of things
I like broader blades a lot, especially thicker ones, since i don't feel like they're gonna snap when i pry up dry wood and make camp

I usually use much bigger blades with fingerloops, but i don't know if a fingerloop would be neccesary with such a small blade, if you have any experience please share it, it would help a lot.

And since denmark is a pretty "Salty" country i need a good smooth coating if possible.

Any experience with the knives recommended would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Ps because of stupid laws, it has to be a fixed blade.

Folder: 2015 Cold Steel Spartan. Blade length of 4.5 inches, CTS-BD1 steel (pretty corrosion resistant) and stonewash finish (also helps when dealing with salty and humid environments). Broad blade, thick spine, a beast of a knife. You aren't going to break this thing, and the lock is arguably the strongest in the market today.

Only problem I see is weight, it's quite heavy, and price (adding shipping +taxes when buying Cold Steel in Europe)

Fixed: I'd say Spyderco Aqua Salt (4.18 inches, corrosion resistant, tough knife for most outdoor and utiility tasks) in Serrated edge
Not really thick but you aren't breaking this guy either...and you can leave it in salt water for as long as you like, it will never, ever rust

Judging from your description im going to assume you want something with a bit of a spine, not too thin, so Something local maybe?

Mora SRT: Bushcraft or Tactical (Sweden)
Bruseletto TY or Trillemarka (Norway)
Enzo Badger (Finland)
EKA Nordic w11 (Norway)

Survive Knives GSO 4.5 made from 3V

They are available for preorder now.

Thank you so much, will look into those.
And it doesn't have to be local

Here is one I really like that would be perfect for your use. The price is a little over $100USD.

Best of all it looks like it was made in Denmark, one of my best ever favorite countries (Grandma came from Denmark).

Spyderco Black Aqua Salt

Here are two good YouTube videos about this rustproof tactical semi-tactical fixed blade.

That looks incredible, and it has just the right length, If i can't find anything better this might be the winner.
Thank you so much

A Bark River Bravo 1 has a blade length of 4.25" and a thickness of .217". You can get them in s35vn which is a great stainless or in 3v. I think you'll find it very suiting for you needs and in stock, ready to ship from your choice of a few dealers.

Okay so, I've ordered The Gerber Strongarm and a Aqua salt, and i'm planning to order a bark river next month.
I couldn't settle for one so i've gotten a few and i'm probably gonna add a few more to the list.

Thank you so much everyone for your help, much appreciated ;)

You definitely sound like a fellow knife nut! Congrats on your purchases and enjoy them!

Your Aqua Salt won't disappoint you!

Really, it is a cutting beast. Holds up to batoning small logs, and mine fell from 25 ft directly into some river rocks. Just bent six teeth, but the Sharpmaker did a quick job reapiring them. The coating is pretty tough, also.

Sheath is excellent, also. Strong, and the retention is perfect. And mine came scary, scary sharp!
