I have a number of items I need to pick up and I thought I'd ask if anyone here had any experience with what I'm looking for.

I have have a Mossberg 535-12ga and I need to mount a light on it.

I currently have a SIG Light/laser and could mount it if I purchase a Picatinny-type mount for the shotgun tube or barrel. Like the upper pick below. With the Picatinny mount I could mount the SIG light, or a standard 1 inch flashlight in a tube mount (lower pic).

I also have a standard 1 inch diameter tactical light that I could mount if I purchased a clamp-type mount for the shotgun like this;

Does anyone have any experience/suggestions on either option for me?

============================

I also have a SIG-556 and I need something to help me load .223 magazines (I'm tired of the bloody thumb).

Two styles I've looked at;

Command Arms and Lula make ones in this style;

Or the "Easy Loader" and Cammenga types;

Thanks "fellers"!:D

Does the sig light already go on a pistol you own? If so I would leave it there and mount the other flashlight on the mossberg.

You most likely want a momentary contact for your light. SureFire has the big name here but, Streamlight has some more affordable options.

Mag tube clamps for flashlights are a little too "mall ninja" for me (look okay but, don't work well). They move, aren't solid, etc so, unless you find a really good one it is most likely a waste of money IMHO.

I would watch ebay and look for a used SureFire forearm replacement. I don't know about your specific shotgun, but Remington stuff is pretty easy to find for a good price.

In my case I don't want all that weight out front so, I just use a deep set Tritium dot. From a barricade position where I control house lights, I can stay in the dark and back light the bad guy coming down the hall while I stay hidden in the dark with time to assess my options.

I have a Surefire forend mounted on my 590 Mariner. It has both the momentary and on/off rocker switches. Very nice unit for brightness and ergonomics.

After many years of taking the Mossberg on multi-week wilderness river trips in AK where it is always out during the day (gets rained on or splashed a lot), I finally experienced a problem with the momentary switch. I sent it in for repair figuring it would probably cost me $50-75 for a switch replacement. Instead, Surefire sent me an entire new forend assembly. Everything new (several improvements since my old one was made) and no charge. That was really above and beyond the call of normal customer service.

Another thing I added to my 590 was a tritium front bead that I got from Brownells. If you are fishing the end of the silver run in mid-Sept., it does actually get dark in AK. The tritium bead and Surefire light are a great combo.

ORIGINAL Lula loader for me..use for AR & AK..now I don't know if there are knock-offs but don't settle for less.

I also like the fast UNLOAD feature, invert and work lever...I'm primarily a colony varmint shooter so will change loads to match wind conditions.

I don't know about GI mags, but I can load Pmags all day long

CTD has lots of cheap gun stuff, including a good selection of AR15 and rail mounts, just don't buy UTG (airsoft quality)
Midwayusa has a huge selection of everything from ammo and reloading to little screws that go to that one thing
