I need some help ASAP!!

I don't know much about blades but I do know what I like and to be frank, that sword looks like one of those cheap Taiwan made ones. Even though they say it's not a toy, I think its best use would be as a novelty item.

You know, sometimes you get what you paid for.

That's just my 2 cents worth.

Aaack! Don't do it man! If you do you will learn to regret it later. Basically it looks pretty (well not really but some people might think so) and it is a piece of decorator crap! Stainless is a miserable material to make sword blades from. Basically it is too brittle when it is made into blades of sword length. Also I am betting that you are dealing with a rat tail tang that will snap after you actually hit something with the sword a few times. The bottom line is that if you want a decorator sword like object go for it. If you want a real sword save your money. My recommendation is to check out Kris Cutlery's katanas. They cost six times as much as that sword and are worth about 500 times as much.

I'm not sure what they cost new,but if you can pick it up for twenty five dollars that would seem a reasonable price. No one has bid on it yet.Its definetly a wall hanger.I don't like it, personally I find it pretty ugly, but thats my opinion.Chow,Ralph

That thing looks like one of the pakistan/Tiwan POS sold through the HSN. Consider yourself lucky if it arrives in 1 piece.

BTW welcome to the forums. Give us a little time and we will show you some nice swords.

Why don't you tell us what you like about this sword. Maybe we can resommend a better one with the features you like.

Ok..I know its only a wallhanger and basically thats all I am looking for. I am JUST starting to get interested in sword collecting and don't even own one yet. I already know that I like katanas over just about everything else though. What I like about this particular sword is the design. I don't like those plain swords with no design at all although I am sure they are very good. I like the dragon swords and this one which has the flying dragon just struck my fancy. Oh and before I forget..I live in Canada see and buying a expensive sword isn't in my price range right now. The price of this sword is about all I am looking for right now.

Got you.

You may want to take a look at some of the following:

1. Marto USA
2. CAS Iberia
3. Atlanta Cutlery
4. Museam Replicas
5. Smokey Mountain Knifeworks

These folks import and distribute moderately priced swords and publish nice catalogs. Usually, they will send you these for free.

Call them and place yourself on their mailing list. You may also want to set some money aside for a few good books.

Have fun.

As long as it suits your purposes and price range go for it.I do recommend the above posted companies, they all carry a line of fantasy or display swords at decent price and like Marto,Cas Iberia, etc. Most of the display blades have blades made of stainless and some are even sharp. Some are also most capable of removing body parts and tree limbs without falling apart.Chow,Ralph
