I need some help, for my new RC-3

I want to have some leather pants made for my just received RC-3. The sheath is nice but I like leather. Heres what I need help with.
The sheath maker says he has a RAT-3 D2 and may be able to use it to make a sheath for the RC-3, if it is the same overall dimensions as the RC-3. Otherwise I gotta send him my new baby

It should work even though the pommel part of the handle if different
