I need some help with an old kerosene lamp

I recently got this old pedestal fount style kerosene lamp for what I thought was a good deal, but the burner is a lot worse off than I was lead to believe.

I thought I could swap it out with a modern burner, but the collar ring is slightly undersized, and won't fit on. That leaves me in a spot.

I'm hoping that perhaps someone on here can tell me what I might need to look for, in order to get this up and going again, based on the pictures of the threads for both the fount and the burner itself.

I just Googled Oil Lamp Parts, I believe you'll find what you need on the first page. Or look around at the local flea markets & Antique shops, there seems to be someone who either sells or knows of somebody who dabbles in oil lamps at these places.

It's all good advice, and I appreciate it. The problem is that sometimes I've found collars in truly bizarre sizes that deviate from the standards. And then there are ones marked as fine thread, or coarse thread. The number of available choices is enough to make an inexperienced head swim.

The reason I brought up flea markets & Antique shops, etc. being near Amish country, you can find someone/somewhere where you see the burner for size before buying.

After a little looking around and browsing, I finally manged to find a collar and burner that work. I still don't know just what size it is that I needed, but at least it works.

And it's kind of hard to argue with the end results.

So thanks to the assistance I received on here, and some dumb luck on my part, my lamp has been properly fitted with a #2 burner, and I've got a taller chimney on the way. On its own it already looks classy, but as a tinkerer I can't help but think about accessorizing it.

On the Kirkman site and others, I've seen colored glass shades for their Aladdin brand lamps, and I'd like to do something similar with my own lamp if at all possible. The only thing is I'm not sure what size of shade would be best for this, if it should be a 7" or 10".

Does anyone with any experience concerning kerosene lamps have theirs outfitted with decorative shades?
