I need some help !!

I picked up a used KME standard kit a month ago and like it a lot. The stones have seen some use but not real bad. I ordered the Gold series diamonds (course, fine, x-fine). I want to get some Stanton stones to go along with the diamonds. No super steels just small folders and a few kitchen knives. A Queen in D2 is the best I have. I would like to get some opinions on this, i.e. good idea or bad and what grits . Any advice would be very helpful

1. For basic sharpening and functionality of your knives I think you got all you need - course, fine, x-fine, seems about right :thumbup:
2. you want to enrich your selection; I think that extended stones set need to include the following grits: ~200 \ ~ 400 \ 1000 \ ~3000 \ ~6000 and a leather strop.
That will give great flexibility in your sharpening.
3. I don't like the term "super steel"; This is a misleading term; every steel got its own uses, advantages and disadvantages.

500 and 2000

They will do most everything you need and give you an idea of where you want to go. It give you a semi coarse stone to remove the diamond scratches and a semi fine stone to give you a fine but fairly toothy edge that is good for most cutting. The 16k is also recommended for finishing even after stones like the 2k, it's used more like a hard strop to deburr the edge than a polishing stone.
