I'm looking for either a large folder or a fixed blade. When i mean large for a folder i mean with a blade of at least 4 inches. I'd like the price to be around 60$. NO WOOD HANDLES. I also want it to be able to put up with some abuse. Maybe the cold steel voyagerwith 5 inch blade? Any Ideas?

If no ideas for a folding knife i'm also looking for a fixed blade knife that either is a "tactical" knife or an outdoor knife. I was looking at the Ka Bar warthog. The blade should be around 5 inches or bigger. The price under 100$. Once again NO WOOD HANDLES. Thanks for the help :)

The Cold Steel Voyager line is very good for what you describe as are the FRN line from Spyderco such as the Endura.

In regards to the fixed blades, there are lots of small ones which are under $100, the Howling Rat for example.

If you want to go for high cutting ability and not much prying/chopping ability then take a look at :

I like the Mora 2000 for a lot of wood craft.

If you really need a 4+ inch blade the Voyager is a good choice, although I would personally much prefer an Endura or a Pacific Salt (both with a little under 4” blades).

Some fixed blades that you might want to consider:

Spyderco Temperance.

SOG Revolver.

Cold Steel Bushman.

60 bucks will get you an XL Voyager. I have the plain edge and when opened, is like having a mini Ka-bar. I know the CS line gets some bad press and I think it's in part to Lynn Thompson's cheesy promotion DVD's but for a fixed blade, a Recon Scout or Trailmaster would be something to consider in the $100 range. I have not used these but the BK&T 7 and Ontario RKAT may fit your pistol and your budget too.

Check out the Benchmade Red Line of blades, loads of well made stuff.

Very happy with my JuJu and my buddy just loves his Offsider (it's really a HUGE knife).

Bang for the buck, the Red Line is hard to beat for Fixed blades

Take care

PS, For a Huge folder the CS Voyager is pretty tough to beat. I've got a Vaquero Grande and it's one really bad blade :D
