This knife has been suggested to me that it is from the 1800s and COULD be a Russell knife. However, I'm not sure why because there is no Russell marking on it...in fact, the only marking on the entire thing is a very, and I mean very, faint marking that looks like three capital A's...like this A A A. It has 6 pins that I can see and the tang goes all the way through to the edge of the knife handle. The handle is in fairly poor condition...someone taped it with clear tape, I guess because it was loose? Is is pretty large...17 inches long. Anyway, I'm wondering what this particular knife was used for, the age of it, if anyone could tell me the manufacturer and finally what the worth (if any) might be..THANKS!

Looks like an old butcher knife. I'd just continue using it. It might be a Green River but in it's condition, I'd think it's value would be in the kitchen.
