I need some modifications done

I have some plans to have one of my Batacs re-ground into more of what I want. I have photoshopped a comparison picture and I believe it's something that a skilled knifemaker could do but I seem to be coming up short in the area of finding someone qualified who has time to do this. I know the usual suspects for this kind of work are Garth, Jeremy, and Ban, but all 3 have said they had full plates and couldn't take on a new project for a while.

If I have to wait, I guess I can, but I thought I'd see if any of you could recommend someone who can do TOP QUALITY WORK on my Busse. It's not just some Ka-bar I'm having reworked so I don't want to just have someone with a grinder and a bottle of Jose Cuervo do the work.

Suggestions?
 
Have you tried bribery ???????????? :D some have used Krein,,, I believe Lee had him mod a cpl of his blades,,,,, Talk to Dobywon. and Ducci does good work too . Can't think of any others I'd trust.
 
Bil Siegle has done Busse mods in the past. Another possibility is Justin from Ranger Knives.

Any significant regrind will void the warranty on that part of the knife
 
I think you should let BUSSE do it....


IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT...and will be covered under warrenty:)

some one already beat me to it, with Siegle. I have a modded FMBLE he did a handle smooth and clip on. Looks great.

As Amy-0 stated too, sure bet to get top notch work, and have a warranty still intact is Shop. Don't know how long the turn around would be for that, but give them a call.
 
What do you have against Cuervo??? :confused:... leaves me out...:grumpy:;)











I'm kidding of course...:) but not about the Cuervo... what's up with that... :rolleyes::D
 
Yeah anyone wanting top notch work call,, Garth,, I grind drinking Bud Heavy and just barely get through every mod before I scrap her out,, thanks. J

Even though I believe this to be true, I am very happy with the work you did on my FFBM.:thumbup::cool:


I have had Tom Krein mod a couple of mine and he does outstanding work but if you need the slabs taken off then he is not a option.

I would do what Amy-O suggested and let Garth do it. It may take a little while but it will be perfect and still under waranty.

Let us know what you decide.
 
I just wanted to add the fact that Blade is only a few weeks away I dont think anyone will be taking on any work until afterwards.

I know Busse isnt taking any custom work till after Blade.

Just something to keep in mind right now.
