As some of you know, I just got my first Busse and I now have a problem. I received a great deal on a tank buster from out friend lsheldon YESTERDAY! (Thank you sir) I'm already looking for a few others to add to my arsenal. (I refuse to call it a collection)

The tank buster is great and I know we'll have many a great times together, but its kind of a mid size knife. I've found another that tickles me the right way. I think its a little smaller which I like. Problem is I don't know what it is and I haven't seen to many around.
I'll also be looking for a great chopper for my "arsenal" at a later date, but lets start here.

Here is the pic I found. Jeepnut22 provided this pic in the "nothing but pics thread"

You'll notice my fine photoshop work at the bottom.
What is it?
How much are they?
Are they Hard to find?
Size comparison?

Thank you in advance.

I'm not positive on the model, but that's not a Busse. It's a Bussekin, either a Swamp Rat or a Scrapyard... but I don't know which. I'm not up to speed on all of the kin models.

Some type of Swamp Rat that might be hard to get and pricey... Thought it was a Safari Skinner at first but the SS has a must bigger sweep.

snwbrdr202 knows his rats - I'd shoot him PM.

Just throwing this out there: if you like that one, you may want to look at the Swamp Rat RatManDo - I think the RMD is a little bigger, but its one of my all time fav sub 5" Bussekin and everyone loves them and should have one - whats even better is that you can get em at cost direct from the source right now.

Here is a RMD below my Tankbuster I used to have, for size comparison:

Pretty sure it's a Swamp Rat Rat Hunter.

Underscore, Since it's definitely a SRKW model, I'm going to move your thread over to the Swamp Rat forum where you should get all the answers about it. :) I'll leave behind a redirect, so folks here can still see the thread title in the Busse forum main page list and follow the link.

Please stand by...

I don't care about the finish on that particular knife. More the design, I'd just like to have that model.

He's already looking for more..... That's how it starts, one, then one more, before you know it you've got a whole herd of Hogs, Rats n Dogs......

Welcome to the madness... You've been bitten hard........

Welcome to the Swamp Rat forum. :D

OK, ya Rats... Underscore's got questions, you got answers! Please give him a hand, 'K? :)

Thank you!

Pretty sure that's a rat hunter... And if I see one before you I'll b all over it :D
Sar rats are pretty similar, but thicker. I think they're available much more frequently.

Happy hunting :)

thats not very nice. :(

And I'm not even one of the cutthroats ;)

In all seriousness tho, I've never seen one for sale. You will have to talk to some of the more senior members when they would have last seen one. Check out the SR picture thread and you'll get about as good a feeling for the knife as most guys here have. :)

Yes, Rat Hunter, Thanks to Jaxx for moving this to the proper place. :D :D :D

I have one, and its not going anywhere any time soon. My all time favorite small Rat, bar none.

Pic coming soon, gonna get out of the shop, good excuse! :)

sorry man, I didn't know it wasn't a Busse. It was in a pic in the Busse section which led me to believe it was.

It's a pseudo-Busse, so your confusion was understandable. A Busse alternative might be the Groove Master:

Swamp Rat & Scrap Yard knives are made by Busse, so you'll see any combo of the 3 in the various forums.

Hey thanks man! I pretend like I know my Rats, but truth be known I just like putting these knives to the test. I wouldn't rather have any other knife out in the woods

OH, and yes, the knife you seek is a Rat Hunter! Very rare piece but a true beauty for any hunter, fisherman, or outdoorsman.

Just for future reference (from top to bottom):

1. Rat Daddy

2. Rat Mastiff

3. Ratweiler

4. Desert Jack

5. SAR Rat

6. Rat Hunter
