Hello Folks!

I need survival expert help.
The question concerns French doctor Allen Bombar (spel?), the guy who crossed Atlantic on the slightly bigger than 2 m lifeboat proving that sea catastrophe victims kill mostly their own fear and stupidity, not famine and thirst. He fed himself only with what he could catch and didn’t touch the emergency provisions pack. Seems it was in 60-ths but I’m not sure...

I couldn't get any info here in Poland and since I don't remember proper spelling of his name it is close to impossible to search through the Internet.

Could you help me, please, with Net sources or at least proper spelling?

Many thanks in advance!

The French M.D.'s name is/was Alain Bombard. There are several
books available by and about Bombard and his epic journey.

The Will to Live; The Bombard Story...; The Voyage of the Heretique
(name of the raft) are a few titles.

http://www.abebooks.com is one source of used books. Type in Bombard's name under author. He appears to have been quite prolific.

Bombard liferafts are named for him.

Info I found suggests that he did use his survival kit and also
drank seawater.
