I need to figure out this maker's mark.Can anyone help?

I got a little pocket knife from my uncle's estate.
It is probably not much.
It is flat,has a clip,small blade and small file.
I think the face may be ivory scrimshaw.
Anyhow,the blade is stamped with a flying bird.
I searched the internet for a while now and can't find anything.
Can someone tell me where to find maker's marks?
