I need to find a T6 Torx bit.

I got a DDR-3 kit and I need the torx bit. What type of brick-and-mortar joint would have one.

Lowe's and Home Depot do not. neither do the local hardware chains.

I know I can find one on the 'net but I'm not paying $5 s&h for a $2 bit. (even if it takes more than $5 in gas to get there)

I heard Wal*Mart had them, but I couldn't find them. I *know* Sears has them (if in stock) cuz' I just went there to buy one for my brother-in-law for the same reason.

Samhain is right, Home Depot has these - usually in their Tool Corral area - has all the bits you need. Decent quality, good price

home depot didnt have it for me either. i ended up finding one at a small hardware store.

Home depot probably has one, you just didn't know what to ask for. Husky makes a screwdriver with 4 double ended torx bits t-4 thru t-10 and t-15. It cost around $5

model # HD-74502 U It will tighten every torx screw on any folder you have.

Individual torx bits in the small sizes are hard to find
You will be more likely to find the smaller sizes in key wrenches. In bits many stores carry nothing below t-8 most only carry t-10 or larger.
 
I have a spare T6 bit only (just got a set of drivers for christmas), if you have a driver that fits it , you should be good to go. Email me w/address if you want it. Kevin. buckdojo@juno.com
 
Home Depot should have them but those drivers are real popular. I went in looking for the regular phillips/flat version once and they were sold out and only had the torx head version. You can also try an auto supply store. I don't know how small they'll go. Torx used to be real popular on cars for securing the dashboards and such.
