Hi everybody, I'm just ignorant & need help to take a decision. I want to buy a new knife but I have two blade options: S30V or S60V. Wich will be best? I read as much I could find on the net, but I need a simple explanation: wich one is harder, wear resistant, easier to mantain & re-sharpen, etc. Thanks a lot.

Not sure who uses CPM440V now (aka S60V)... (Spyderco used to...maybe they still do)...anyway, S30V is more widely used, especially by custom and semi-production high end makers....FWIW ;)

Long wearing and easy to sharpen are usually mutually exclusive,

Blades that are hard and wear resistant are generally more difficult to put a sharp edge than milder steel, and usually harder steel/alloys require a little more experience sharpening without being disappointed by your results.

If your new to knives, and new to edge maintenance you may want to look into Spyderco Knives and Sharpeners they work well together for the novice knife user.

Lots of luck, and happy shopping.
