Hey gang ,
I just want to see if you think I am nuts.. I just bought a Xikar Elan from Knife Outlet. I got the knife yesterday and boy was I dissapointed. It really is a cheesy knife.

Anyway I talked to Fred at knife outlet and he said no problem, I can return the knife. Infact I was thinking of switching it to the Leek TiNi its the same price. Fred was real nice about it...

Well Fred said something that gave me second thoughts.. he said that people where buying these knifes like crazy and he cant get enough of them.. I dont know maybe I am being too picky..

Maybe it was that article on Blade... thats why I bought it..
BUT the knife is not one I would carry even for a "dress up " knife.. FOR EXAMPLE..IF you look at the chive, the frame is noticeably thicker, the blade is thicker, and the knife just plain feels better in your hand,,, it also looks better not cheesy....

Do you gents and ladies think I'm nuts for returning it ???
Have any of you seen and held the knife yet ? What do you think about the knife ?

Lots of people carry 3 dollar POS Spyderco knockoffs and are perfectly happy with them. Does that mean I'm being too picky to like the real thing? Nope. Bottom line, if you don't like it, it isn't good enough. Get the Leek, I think you'll like it better. I'm hoping to get one for Christmas.

Even if the Xikar Elan is a great knife in high demand, if you don't like it, it's not the knife for you. Go ahead and trade it for the Leek.

There are all kinds of knives catering to many individual tastes. It's quite normal to prefer one over another. That's what makes the knife industry so interesting and robust. :)
