Hi all.

I saw it today and i would like to hear about your experience.

I can say that i like the size, handle and blade shape and style. I think that it is very well sharpened. People say that Buck 420HC heat treat is very good and the blade holds decent edge for long time and that 420HC is totally different from steel 420. The lockback is solid, there was no bladeplay and the knife has metal (not sure about the materials) washers like Spyderco.

My only concern is with the material of the handle (plastic) and the absence of steel liners...the knife is very light, but it looks to me that the handles can be broken too easy. If i got it right, the handle material is not similar to the Spyderco FRN.

I use my knives for cutting (thin wire or cable, wood, food).

So...what can you tell me?

Thanx

I've had each model in the series for awhile, they are good knives for the money. No frills or flash, but basic everyday working knives.

Pretty good knives all around or very good knives for the money. The handle should hold up fine, try to snap the handle in two pieces in your hand, I think you will discover it is tougher than you once thought. I really liked mine, but I ended up trading it. I will probably get another one day. The Ka-Bar Doziers are inexpensive lockbacks similar to the bantams, but they are higher quality IMO. I love those knives.

I have the BBW model and like it. Alot of blade in a small package that disappears in the pocket (I think the larger ones have pocket clips?). I like the grip too, manages to fit my large hands well. Can't go wrong for the price, IMO. The only thing that stinks is the "China" stamp on the tang, but I cannot blame Buck for that.

just curious, why can you not blame Buck for having made the decision to have some of their work done off shore? for that line of knives it was their call.

The Bantam happens to be my sons favorite knife. He's had a couple due to a teenagers inablility to keep things in order. Definitely a sharp knife out of the box. I have one, but it doesn't see a whole lot of use due to my custom shop 110 taking priority when it comes to EDC.

LOL, I should have left off that last sentence. I just meant that Buck probably had to start some off shore stuff to stay competitive in a flooded market. I didn't mean to go political though.:o Regardless, the Bantam's are a great value, IMHO.
