We found out in September of last year that my dad had fourth stage Melanoma that had spread to his brain. We'd noticed some very strange behavior and took him to the emergency room and that's how we found out. He had two large tumors in his brain one on the left side and one toward the back on the left side as well. Fast forward a week and he had brain surgery to remove the tumors. Everything went very well and he walked out of the hospital two days later.
I posted a thread during that week for all of you to pray for him along with many other people that my family and I know. I'm not a religious person, but that week showed me the power of prayer and that someone must have been listening. From time to time I pray for my dad because if it worked once it can work again and it gives me a tiny sliver of comfort in my now very uncomfortable world.
He had quite a few small tumors that had formed in his brain not long after his surgery and he had a treatment of targeted radiation to remove them. My dad also has two very large tumors in his body, one on his left shoulder near his neck, and one close to the center of his chest. He had radiation treatments on these large tumors in his body which left them much smaller, but otherwise still there.
Fast forward to about a month or so ago and the doctors found more small tumors in his brain and he had more of the targeted radiation to remove them. This was done right after his radiation treatment for the tumors on his body.
Lately he's been having problems remembering things. Nothing major, but it's been happening a lot and needless to say I'm very worried about him. The doctors don't know what's causing it and tomorrow he's going to get a scan done so we'll hopefully know what's going on. When we first took him to the emergency room back in September he couldn't remember the year or even his own name. I never want to see him like that again it was the most painful thing I've ever been through in my life.
My dad has been through hell and back, he is a survivor, but cancer is a very deadly disease especially in it's fourth stage. I just need your prayers so that tomorrows scans may uncover better news than expected. Thank you for taking the time to read all of this I very much appreciate your time, your thoughts, and your prayers.
