It's a picture of a Busse with non-conforming finger grooves.
I call grooves like Ryu's Fang conforming, all in a nice row.
The one's I'm looking for are not all in a row, they are different "heights" but they are still full size finger grooves like on Ryu's Fang.
I hope you guys understand what I'm saying.
If you can help, either post a link here, or feel free to send it to my email address. Thanks.

Quite a variant. I believe the top edge was supposed to be for doing chopping into extreme materials, such as turtle shell and the extremely hard cores of coconuts, so one could save the regular edge from any damage/blunting.

SCHWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET !!! I'm in love !!! That top knife is unbelievable :D

p.s. - What the heck is it? :)

That top knife was a prototype. Not sure it was a battle mistress variant. It was a design colaboration between Jerry and Doc Hood before the dreaded flame post that got everyone in a unroar. Doc Hood even threatened to come to to my house and kick my ass LOL. Any way that was going to be the Hoods Woods knife I think but it never panned out so Jerry just sold it as a variant to some lucky Busse lover.

I'm having a custom built for chopping and I was thinking about some finger grooves to help in the process. My thoughts are I would be able to loosen my grip during heavy chopping. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks for the picture Andrew. Doe's anyone else have any sugestions?

It may be just how long my blade is but Dragon's fang has a tendancy to twist in the hand when chopping. It's not a big deal one just has to get used to his weapons personality. But I don't know if that's a side effect of the grooves or not.

that big Monster of yours RYU?
Which way doe's it twist?
On a right hand swing, or a left hand swing?

I doubt that the knife in question is the Busse/Hood knife.... the knife not only has "tube" fasteners which post dated the design, but it does not have a tanto point which though I could be wrong I believe the busse/hood knife to have had....

IIRC wasn't that a Mistress variant one that Andy had Jerry build to another forumites (Boru???) personal specs?
The Hood knife is a little more gentle looking than this one IMO:)

I also am not sure that is the Hood knife. I have a picture of the Hood knife (or so I labeled it when I saved it, quite some time ago) and also remember, I think, that Andy Prisco posted these pics and said they were variants. I would post the pic of the Hood knife, but it is a GIF file and can't upload it (I've tried converting it to JPEG format with my picture-editing program but to no avail). If anyone would like to have it, I can email it to you.

I could be wrong guys but I'm almost positive that is what Andy and maybe even Jerry told me a while back. I think it was one of the many they made and it just didn't make it. Now that you mention the tanto point thing remember that "once in a century" run of tantos Jerry made around that time. I bet they were protos too. LOL.

Here's the JPEG form of the Hood knife (atleast I think it's the Hood knife), thanks to Dark Nemesis.
