So I completed my Science Project on my folding knives the other day. I then brought my presentation board to school to display with the other projects. When people saw the pictures of knives on my board they immediately said- "oh, I have that knife," or "oh, my dad/granpa has that knife." I was a little surprised when I found out that 6 different people owned the Spyderco Tim Wegner. I was curious so I asked a few questions about their "Wegner." On a hunch, I asked if it had a button at the back of the handle that you pressed to close the knife. The answer in all cases was, "Uh-huh, it does have a button thing." Well, of course they didn't have a Wegner because the Wegner is a liner lock. They couldn't tell the difference between their own knife and a totally different knife. I never realized how non-knife-nut people see knives, it helped me to understand the much repeated "all your knives look alike."]
p.s. I can't tell ya how many times I heard this- "If you want a really good knife you should get a gerber EZ-OUT"
