I never wanted a 5...

Today I went to the Smoky Mountain Knife works. I was never really interested in the BK5 on paper. I was bored and handling different knives just because I could. I asked to hold the 5. Now I want one.

It was so light and fast and balanced that I couldn't help but love it.

I still don't think the trailing point is best for most things, but I'd like to try it out.

Now, the question is: will I be able to get my hands on one before they are gone for good?

The fiver is a sweet blade. Fast and light, as you say. Still prefer my 4 or niner, but she is a nice one.

I Absolutely Love my 5!
I Fisk'd it down to .030 BTE and it is a Fantastic user! Black Locust limbs 1 1/4" in diameter drop with one fell swoop.

I love this knife!

Can't go wrong with a 5 or 15. I love mine. Both ride in my Edc bag 😀

The 5 is such a usable blade. It just works so well. You have to use it to really appreciate. I want to pick up a few more for the long haul because I edc mine every day.

The 5 and 15 are my favorites - especially the 5. It just does so many things that I do so well, it's hard not to fall in love with it.

In the kitchen, around camp ... the BK5 is very hard to beat. It excels at food prep and, as previously mentioned, is a limb lopper of the first order.

I have a 5 in my kitchen knife block. I just made a giant pile of cole slaw with it yesterday. When we camp, it's my camping cooking knife. Pretty handy having an awesome kitchen knife with a sheath when you're camping, especially a knife that can also split the wood for the fire and stab the daylights out of a bear attacking our campsite, or more likely someone trying to steal bacon. At current prices it's absolutely a must have.

The bite. Ahh yes... I remember the first time I held my first one. Simple amazing blade!

Ah yes, another one has achieved enlightenment.

The 5 was my first large Becker. Now, I have more 5's and 15's than any other BK. 😊
