Hey RAT crew... look I know you have your hands full with current knife productions but I figure I throw out an idea here.

Look like the Nessmuks have been getting really popular lately, and some makers have some really neat designs like the Koster knives.

Be neat if the RAT crew could come up with something simple, functional, effective, and (the best part about the RAT knives) decent price.

Nothing fancy. The classic Nesmuk knife design, thin, with the RAT micarta type handles, same RAT blade coating, and a similar RAT quality sheath. Maybe a couple different sizes.

I think this blade would fit right in with the RAT concept.

What ya think? :D

We have already been thinking about...

A out-of-the-oven finish on 1095 with no coating (let is rust, patina, whatever) and some Micarta handles, scandi style grind and a leather pouch sheath.

Are you talking a Nessmuk style, or more of a puukko-style blade?

If the latter, I'd be down with a RAT-ified puukko -- probably one of the most useful woods blades there is.

The Nessmuk is nice, but it's a skinning knife (which is what Nessmuk used it for, his woodcraft was done with his hatchet and pen knife), and somewhat limited as a general-use knife, although cool looking.

Sheath suggestion: maybe put a firesteel loop on it.

A scandi grind woodcraft knife would be great; I hope though that you'll keep a little bit of a bottom guard on it as on the RC3/4. Thanks.
