While perusing at the local Flea Market this morning, I ran across this big ole Italian lock-back knife. I used to see these types of knives being offered quite often in the past, but now the Italian made versions have mostly been replaced by the Chinese made copies.
This one's overall build quality seems to be about equal to the Italian made 'Falcon' brand specimens that I currently own.
While this big boy is not marked with any brand name, it does have 'ROSTFREI', (German word used for Stainless Steel), stamped on one side of the blade's riccaso, with 'ITALY' stamped on it's other side.
The factory edge seems to be totally unused, and I'd rate the overall knife to be in about 95 to 98 percent condition. The blade locks up nice and tight, and it's walnut scales have a very nice grain pattern to them.
I paid the very fair $30 price that the vendor was asking for it.
It truly dwarfs my other Italian made lock-back stiletto knives, it having a blade length of about 7", and an overall open length of about 15".
One of my shared pictures below shows it next to one of my Buck 110 knives, giving a good reference as to it's large size.
It really is quite the beast!
