Just wondering if anyone has the newer one. If so, do you like it? I know some people who love it, other people not so much. Anyone encountered any any big problems. Thanks for anything info you can give.

most reports say battery life is poor.

and it has a web browser that does not (and probably never will) support Flash applications...

it's not an ipod and it's not a PDA.

i'd never buy one.

I bought one for my girlfriend last Christmas and she loves it. I have used it frequently as well. Its nice having a pocket internet machine that runs using wireless. I actually frequent the forums on it and it has a fantastic browser (granted you dont mind not having flash capabilities) with high speed. The battery life is respectable, i have browsed the Youtube function on it and have gotten several hours of searching and video watching.

As an iPod, it does everything you want, music, videos, photos, etc, as a web browser, not so good but very portable, an asset when you can't use a laptop. There are many useful and fun applications available via the iTunes store.
Good quality screen colour, but hard to read in sunlight. Easy to use functions after a little practice. If you intend using it for videos, I recommend the 32Gig version. Ihave a 16 Gig, and my music and photo library nearly filled the memory. (I keep everything :))
I travel by air a lot, and the iPod is a great travel companion.
Value for money? So so. (YMMV)

My cousin has one and loves it. She uses it as a portable browser and seems to find unsecured networks wherever she goes. My mother played with it and thought it was great.

It doesn't work for me mainly because my iPod lives in my pocket, and it's just too big. The interface is a noticable improvement over the other iPods, but I'll be getting another nano to replace my dead 1st Gen. I also live too far from my neighbors to steal their network connection... a problem that I can live with.

Have one and love it. Yes battery life is not the best, but I've been playing with it all the time since I got it. Used it to watch movies on planes - great!

If you plan to use it as a mobile internet device, you'll be frustrated a bit, but overall a great tool.

battery life isn't the best but what multimedia product is with that size.

The bad

No true gps, still can't figure out why they don't put it on damn crack berry has gps.

No mem expansion? what gives its a minature computer no scan disk reader come on apple scandisk. After all this thing is computer you should be able to hook up some sort of mem drive to it since its has a usb port.

Sound not as good as ipod, and thats not saying much.

only uses apple programs.

expensive for what you are getting.

250 dollars at best buy for 8 gig model and you don't get a phone with it.

constantly having to wipe the screen, and it scratches easily, since its touch screen

pro

good design, its thin and not bulky
fashion statement. If you are into that sort of thing
leading edge technology even though they stole the design from xerox
wi-fi great feature relatively fast. I like this wi fi metter than my palm tx that i use for work in the hospital
big screen bright screen compared to most pda of its size
plays music, and video like an ipod classic
google maps, memo, and basic games.

Will it take over such products like palm pda or window ce? Probably not because how restrictive apple is with their product line no third parties, also other manufactures will start doing touch pda if itouch catches on, like the iphone, which it really hasn't.

P.S. the sonly psp beats the itouch in most things minus touch screen, style, and wifi. If those 3 things are your primary concerns than go for itouch, otherwise psp kills itouch.

It kind of grows on you. Battery life for music is fine, web and youtube...well, could be better.

No flash is a pain sometimes when browsing and once in a great while the browser will just up and close on you for no apparent reason. Great for having pictures on it since its so portable.

If I ever break mine, I would immediately buy another.

I will agree with a lot that has been said I have the 2nd Gen 16GB
Battery life for listening to music is good but for other functions not so much 4 hrs at most usually less 2-3.But it does charge fast can probably go from 20% charge to full in less than an hour.
My screen has been pretty scratch resistant but picks up fingerprint VERY easily.

I love my iPod Touch!! I watch movies on mine, answer E-mail...Did I mention I LOVE mine?!

Thanks guys. I guess I'm still undecided. I'll make up my mind eventually (hopefully). Until then, keep them coming and thanks in advance.

I just ordered a 16gig touch refurb for 199 from apple. Great price! I can't wait to get this thing!.
