I still have to paint the grinder; But, I had to pick the project back up that convinced me I wanted to make knives and make the best knife that I possibly can. I was also spending hundreds of dollars a month on factory blades and when one of the more expensive knifes, who looked SO elegant in the picture, felt like hot garbage in my hand..........
Now there are no waves along any surface. The work stays cooler longer. The control of grinding is as predictable as it is easy.
That made me feel SO much better about missing work to go get a used Harig 612!!!
Waiting for the 5 x 14 x 2 that I would rather have get back in stock to accurately layout the H frame, basic 25T press is now the priority project!!! I can't be satisfied without some form of laminated billet. The damascus / (insert super steel here) core makes me tingle with excitement, not only is it gorgeous; But, the san mia method being served by a billet that is very good at two jobs.....hold my hammer!
