At this year's Blade Show, I got a lot of requests for my Nessmuk knife to be made out of CPM 3V. So, I decided to give it a shot. After all...I just LOVE the stuff...and I already do a scandi knife using it (Bushcraft)...so why not?
The price will obviously be higher...but the performance will be through the roof.
And crazy enough...you can still get one of these in micarta with a sheath and barely break $200 !!!
(someday I'll restructure my pricing...but not anytime soon!)
Anyway, I picked up some oversize 1/8" thick CPM 3V and I have a dozen or so of these "in the works". Some are orders...some are extras.
Have a look at two I finished up today - and let me know what you think!
First, one in some very nice, very curly, stabilized Koa:
Last, one in some nice-n-thick Black Canvas Micarta:
I am really liking how these turned out....just feel great in the hand....thick enough steel to beat/wail on it...stout scandi grind (12.5 degrees each side)...as-forged finish will resist tarnishing, and even if it rusts, it is easy to restore with a scotchbrite pad...the thickness of the handles really makes for a nice grip...
If you can't tell...I'm having a Happy Monday.
Thanks for looking!
