I've long been a user of Buck knives. My custom 110 with oak scales, brass bolsters and rivets, and BG-42 steel crowns my Buck collection. But it wasn't until this past Monday that I first bought a Buck 442. It feels great in the hand, giving me a comfortable and secure four-finger grip. Very sharp out of the box. No blade play. Snug clip. Great fit and finish. At a $37 list price, what a terrific handy and reliable lightweight cutting tool. It will go on every one of my fishing trips from here on in.

P.S.: I really like its Idaho tang stamp (I've never seen the Idaho stamp before).

The 442 is a great knife. I own several Bucklite models, and I've always thought the perfect Bucklite would combine the 442 frame and clip with a thumbstud and a clip-point blade, like the old 422.
