I really need help about my notebook

Dear All,

I have an Acer Aspire 1353LM notebook I use for job and leisure. This notebook has a DVD writer: a Pioneer DVR-K12RA. The release of the firmware of this writer is 1.10.

The problem is that it is NOT able to use the DVD media that can be found in the shop now: it can not manage 1x-8x DVD-R or faster. In other words, I have to use 1x-2x DVD-RW media (until I can find them).

As far as I know, I have to upgrade the firmware, but neither Acer nor Pioneer seems to have it.

Can you help me? I need really some help!

New firmware for that burner has not come from the manufacturer yet. Do a Google search for "Pioneer DVR-K12RA" and you will see that you are not the only one having a problem with it. It seems alot of people can't burn over 4x. Most have been swapping out the DVR for a replacement but they are still having problems.
