I have been lusting over the Techno for a couple years.
I do outside sales and have 3 little kids.
I live in a city and love brutal over built knives. Thick, clanking solid type.
I know the techno is going to be a great edc for me.
I have huge xxl hands... And it's a small knife.
I don't care. Blue spacer.. Ehh. I don't care.
I have had reason after reason come up the last 2 years! Not to buy a decent knife. And I haven't.
Is the techno an awesome knife that I can carry at work and in the city but will still perform edc tasks comfortably for me?
I gotta have it!
Then I gotta have a Roc!
Hmmm I think I'll try put a trade up for a techno.
PS... Furthermore, the local kickass knife store here in Vegas has pretty much the full line of spyderco. Never a techno. Same with the other big dealer. They got em all but no techno!! I've NEVER EVEN SEEN ONE!!

The techno was a bit chunky for my tastes but it sounds like you'll love it.
I'm a big fan of Spyderco and have owned many models. For some reason the techno struck me as the most impressively built model I've had. Can't put my finger on why.
The action was very smooth and lockup was perfect. Absolutely a must to try at least.
Good luck with your trade.

I'm very much looking forward to the ROC as well. Most exciting new model to me along with the tatanka.

Haha, I literally just bought one yesterday and I love it. I'm also a fan of overbuilt knives (ZT, Strider, etc) and picked up the techno as a smaller option. I personally have no experiend with CTS-XHP but I've head a lot of good things about it. The techno also pairs nicely with my Large Sebenza 21 for a classy all titanium look. The fit and finish was also fantastic, don't let the Taiwan stamp deter you either.

Overall, highly recommended.

This all sounds great! I also very rarely see them for sale second hand which tells me people must want to keep them.
Thanks for the input guys! Anyone have an opinion on the handle for huge hands? Hoping you get least a three finger grip

I can get full 4 with medium large hands...you should be able to get just 4 with large hands...if you have extra large hands you may want to roll with a lanyard to give your pinky some purchase. And it's a phenomenal knife in every way...definitely in my top 5 folders list.

I've also got medium/large hands and have no issues getting a solid grip on the knife. While I can't tell you how it will fit you, I can say I've been carrying a Techno every day I've owned one since August, 2012. It's been my go-to knife since I got it and carry it both on and off duty. It's remained in my pocket, while more pricey knives have come and gone.
It just plain works for me.

I picked one up a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I have medium size hands so I can't comment on how it will work for you, though I suspect you'll be happy with it. It's an amazing piece of work.

Best Spyderco I've ever owned. It's well built, solid as a brick and even with big hands, I find it very easy to use.

The blue spacer is, honestly, pretty terrible but very easy to replace.

If you can't work a trade for one, they are worth actually buying. That said, I got mine nib from a trade.

I've had my Techno for a while now, and it's a GREAT little knife. I've got BIG hand too, and I can still get a good three finger grip on it without issue. Took a little while for it to break in, as the opening action was stiff out of the box, but now it'll flick open VERY quickly.

Ya you haffta get it!! I debated on buying one for months and i finally did a few weeks ago and it is my new favorite knife. Awsome knife, super smooth. Its a perfect edc thing is built for hard use. Great steel, great ergos, an all around solid knife.

I like everything about this knife. I only recently took the leap and do not regret it. Very sturdy little knife, great F&F, cuts very well, and enough handle to get a strong grip, even for a small knife. I find it feels more secure than a D'fly and definitely in contrast with Bradley Air, both of which I also own and like. Very different knives in terms of how they carry, but the Techno is in a class of its own as an ultra-strong but compact knife.

Thanks for all the info! And congrats to all of you who just got your techno!
It seems new buyers and long term users all agree that this Knife is great!
The comparison to the Dragon fly for size was easy as that's my wife's knife. I always am impressed how the handle fits me, so if the techno is better in big hands that will be fantastic!

Nice picture! I like the bowie alot. The fact you bought that right away after owning the techno speaks volumes. the comparison shot makes the technos handle look great for a small knife.

I bought a NIB Techno on the Exchange and I just received it this afternoon. I haven't cut anything with it yet but I'm confident that it will handle anything I throw at it. In fact, I will probably never even come close to pushing it to its limits. It's a little brute of a knife and my knives generally only see light duty usage. My lifestyle and my occupation rarely present any hard use cutting tasks.

I have always had a passion for small, stout, built like a tank knives of all types even though I don't really need them. Whether it be a traditional style slip joint, a one hand opener, or a fixed blade. If it's short, fat and built like a tank it's pretty safe to say that I'm gonna like it. I've been opening and closing my new Techno for hours and I'm getting really attached to the knife. I would never admit that I'm looking forward to going back to work on Monday but in all honesty, it will be nice to actually use this knife after a couple days of just admiring it. The workplace is where my knives see probably 95% of their usage.

I plan to remove the pocket clip and carry my Techno in my right front pocket same as I do any other knife. Might even give it a try in my watch pocket.

I'm impressed with the Techno so far. I'm glad I finally bought one and I can't wait to put it to use.

bleedingfinger, I hope you get yours soon. I'm pretty sure you're gonna like it.
