I hadn't thought much about it but I recently got this.

Then I looked and it's at 154.

Still a few numbers between me and 158 but hope there's some precedent to hold it in case I don't get like 7 posts in time. Seems like it was meant to be:) And the 12 will get some wear here in a few days...

and here I thought you wanted 158 because that's the standard weight of a .357 bullet. :-P

If you only need a few more posts maybe you can write up a review of that Ritter, with pics of course. I for one am interested.

Awesome knife by the way.

Great reason that want 158. I bet Moose will give it to you. Hes pretty cool about stuff like that.

7 more posts is not that hard.

Post lots of pics.

Now we're talkin'!

do you cast ~180gr FPGC's too?
I like the smooth ogive transition with a wide meplat and a lotta mass since I prefer subsonic loads.
OOPS, thread hijack alert!

@ Psyop Yeah I think so but I haven't figured out how to to that search/count thing...

@ Moose Thanks!

@ daizee I'm casting the Keith 168 gr (Lyman 358429) and the Ray Thompson 158gr gc, as used by Skeeter. I run the Keith at about 11gr of 2400 and the Thompson at about 12 to 13 gr 2400 for about 1200 fps out of my 4" 686. That's stout enough for around here. I also shoot them out of K frames, so I don't want to get too hot. Also cast some 440 round balls for my flintlock. I love 357s, and have read all the Skeeter Skelton stuff I could get my hands on. Good article here by Skeeter http://www.darkcanyon.net/MyFriend_The357.htm. I'd be careful with his hot loads:)

@ B.Mauser You're right!

@ dresnor Thanks. I'll play with it some and post some pics when I get it out there. My kit worked out like this: The 2 stays by the fire pit and the wood stove, the 9 hacks at trees and their parts, and for the 12 I have in mind for it to be my dayhiker/backpacking knife. Lighter (I took the brass mabobs out) and I like the length and the drop point. I'll probably treat it pretty good. It is real nice:)

Jackie D is a fine commodity. A "gift" of a 5th got me out of a speeding ticket years ago. Point well-taken though Bladite...
