Hi...I really want to get a benchmade (Probably 710,940,810, or 275 ADAMAS) but I was wondering if it was possible to zip tie mod any of these knives? I really like either assisted opening, flipper, or the wave feature. Not sure how large the thumbstud hole is and not sure if there are any zipties that will fit it. If I could get one modded like that I would buy it ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

If you dont mind the thumbstuds not being there all benchmade studs are removable, you could conceivably remove them and add a zip tie. However theres a member here, Charlie Mike, that will grind a wave notch in just about anything. Id contact him if you really want something to be waved.

If you like assisted opening, there is Barrage series. If your local law allows it, there are auto versions for 275, 950 and so on.

I believe he recently stopped doing that.

Also, I am a big "wave" fan, but I have found that I really don't miss it much on a Benchmade (not that I wouldn't want a factory version one day). The Axis-lock is so smooth and flickable you may not miss it either. I recommend the 710, probably my overall favorite knife.

A zip tie will work on all of them. I think I tried it on my brothers 710 once. I believe it was a 4 or 6 inch zip tie. Thin enough to go through the hole and big enough to catch on the pocket.

Oddly enough I've had some of my axis benchmades "wave" by hooking the thumbstud on the pocket seam. It depends on the model and depends on the pants.

He came to an agreement with ernie emerson to close his books after the end of this year, so contact him and get a job before the end of this year if you want that wave.
