I simply love the look, heft and durability of this knife but I can't get it to take an edge like my other knives and when I do get it sharp it dulls VERY quickly. I'm not doing anything different with it than my other higher end knives - mostly Benchmades - from sharpening to use its all the same. Only thing I can tell is diifferent is the steel. My Benchmades are all 154cm and, of course, the 0350 is S30V.
Is there anything anyone can suggest about this steel or this knife so I can use and enjoy it like I want to?
Thanks a ton guys.

P.S. I've been putting a 25 degree edge on each side to a polish.

Is the whole length of the blade giving you trouble or just the belly? I owned benchmades only until I got my 350 and it took me a couple sharpenings to get it down, due the the deep belly and crazy lines of the blade you have to really focus on not screwi.g up the fro.t half when your coming out of the belly and not skipping the belly and getting the tip. I found that a diamond rod with rounded edges works really well for that type of bladehttp://www.shop.nctoolco.com/product.sc?productId=1131 there's what I use

Going to have to agree with the poster above me about it being thicker. It is much thicker behind the bevel than all of my BM's except the Adamas. Also if you are used to sharpening 154cm, S30v takes a little longer to wear down. I prefer s30v over 154cm.

Are you sure you are apexing the edge? What are you using to sharpen it? I sharpened mine with a lansky kit. The 1/2 inch wide stones worked very well for the 350's shape. Once you get it to where you want it you will love the little pocket tank.

Ah, exactly why I can't wait to get my new 0360.skd :)

Hahaha, just kidding! But no seriously, I can't wait to get it!

Im getting my new 0301 tomorrow - I don't have any of the beefy ZT folders. Cant wait, will let you know how it compares to the 0360

I'm currently using this. I know it's not old school but I've got about 10 different methods to sharpen and this is the best I've used on my Benchmades. Just can't get it right on the 0350. I do own the Lansky system and I could try that.
Honestly guys, I think those of you that said I wasn't used to the thickness of the blade are right on the money. A micro bevel would be ideal. I just have no idea how to do it. ha!
I'll do a search and see what I come up with. Or...... if anyone wants to help a guy out......

Thanks! I just found that myself. Unfortunately I'm not sure I can add a microbevel myself. I need to practice on a cheapo first I guess. I don't understand how you can put one angle on and then get another "on top" of it. I would think the secondary angle would overtake the first. I'm lost I guess.

You basically sharpen at a lower angle without apexing the edge. So if your edge bevel is 20 degrees you would have say a 15 behind it.

I did this with a lansky at 20 degrees. Roughed with diamond, finished with stones.

Update all: I finally got the correct angle down and then put the secondary angle on it..... Wow! Now this cuts like I want! And it's a tank like someone mentioned before. Hasn't left my pocket since!
