Earlier this week, I received a package from our friend from Bavaria Andi. :D As it turns out, I won Andi's 7k post GAW for an exquisite Languiole Knife. This type of knife is a huge departure from what I typically carry in a traditional knife. I never really considered one before. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I received this knife. While it is a long, slender knife, don't let that fool you into thinking it's delicate by any means. It has some nice width to it and a stout construction. It has a four inch blade that will make a great slicer. I also like a lot of the details of the knife such as the back spring engraving, the signature bee at the tang and the Shepard's Cross pins in the covers. It's a nice mix of Beachwood, brass and carbon steel. Sorry for the lousy pics. We're getting a rainy Sunday here today.
Thank you very much Andi. I will give it some pocket time it deserves.:D

Congrats on the give-a-way, Bob!

A friend from France gave me her Laguiole to sharpen up for her and I enjoyed the opportunity to try it out. They're nice knives!

That's a nice one Bob, congratulations again  Andi is generous to a fault :)

It's too bright and too sunny here Bob! ;P jk~ Congratulations on such a wonderful knife, those bolsters look like they'll patina nicely and Andi is top notch

Bob,

as I almost told you - I´m glad it got that fast from my direction. :)
I´m glad as well that you like the knife. Good to see this knife in better hands than mine.

Thanks for the kind words, Bob & fellows.

That's real nice Bob !!! and Andi, great of you on that GAW sir, well done

Belated congratulations on the lovely Laguiole, Bob!:thumbup: Thanks for sharing its arrival (don't know how I missed this for 2 weeks!). Very generous GAW, Andi; glad you're here!:D

Great knife Bob (hope your feeling better buddy) I don't get much forum time of late but think of you often:thumbup:

Andi, your a good man and a great knife and GAW:)

Thanks fellas. This knife is a great slicer. My wife likes it a lot but she scared to death to open it. It is a little bit of a bear trap to get open on the initial pull. Once it's partially open, it's not too bad. :D
Paul, I wish I could say I am. :(. How's that shoulder doing? Hopefully you're on the mend?

A really beautiful knife, Bob!! I love all the details you pointed out...just splendid. I know that one brings you strength for a healthy recovery! Andi is one of the Great Ones:D:D
